Creating in Rhinoceros and Grasshopper - Tutorial
As
mentioned in previous post, Grasshopper comes with Rhinoceros and helps create
more complex structures using formulas and connections between objects.
1.
Run Grasshopper
2.
Vector > Grid > Populate 3D. A 3D rectangular
form with randomly arranged points will show up
3.
Call Number slider by double-clicking anywhere in
Grasshopper operation area and typing „Number slider“
4.
Set the number slider to numeric by right-click and
edit. Set „N“ and then define minimum and maximum values, for example min. 0,
max. 100.
5.
Then connect the number slider with the Pop3D
6.
Then finally, create something with Mesh >
Triangulation. In this example, Voronoi 3D is chosen. Connect Population from
Pop3D to Points in Voronoi 3D. The Rhinoceros will show a preview of your final
product.
7.
The form is functional because it is being held in
Grasshopper. In order to finalize the form in Rhinoceros, you need to bake the
form. Select all, right-click and bake.
